Services

Services provided by K4 Birth Services include the following:

Personal, individualized care from midwife for initial visit, prenatal care, labor, birth, immediate postpartum care, care of the mother through 6 weeks and newborn through 2 weeks postpartum
Although there is one midwife providing services for K4 Birth Services, there may be a student/assistant and consultations with outside providers
Most visits will be at my office space in Poulsbo (including any appropriate lab work)
Home visits will be at 37 wks, your birth, Day 1 postpartum, Day 3-5 postpartum
24/7 midwife availability for urgent needs, available during business hours for non-emergent needs
A complete medical and obstetrical history, physical and pelvic examination including lab work
Nutritional assessment and counseling
Prenatal visits once monthly until 28 weeks, every two weeks until 36 weeks and then weekly until birth
An extended prenatal home visit at approximately 36-37 weeks (including your birth kit and tub)
On-call for from 37-43 weeks (can be reached by phone 24 hours a day)
Attendance at client’s home during active labor, birth, and immediate postpartum
An initial newborn examination that takes place shortly after birth and desired newborn screening
Visits after birth including two in the first 5 days, 1-2 weeks, 3-4 weeks, and a final office visit at 6 weeks postpartum
Availability for additional lactation support or referral, if needed
Backup midwife is always available in case of emergency

Fee: $5500

This fee that covers your entire birth team, birth kit (consumable supplies for the birth itself, linens, etc.), cleanup, and midwifery supplies & equipment.

*May include use of a birth pool (pool accessories not included)

**I do not bill insurance companies directly though I offer clients superbills they can them submit to their insurance company to seek reimbursement. I cannot guarantee reimbursement and encourage all potential clients to contact their insurance companies regarding potential reimbursement. I DO submit insurance information with labs and ultrasound referrals.
