What is K4 all about?

Growing up on a cattle ranch in Idaho, brands are an important part of a family’s legacy and are rarely changed.  A family brand is often passed down for generations.  In 1991, my mother had major birth-related medical complications that forever changed our family.  My dad changed our family brand to honor my mother, Karen, and their four children, of whom I am the oldest.

It felt only right to continue that legacy of change and honor. In celebration of my mother (who had since passed) and our four beautiful children, I chose K4 Birth Services.

I would be honored to share this legacy with you as you embark on this beautiful journey!

I am a midwife.

I am Katlyn Carter, woman, partner,  mother, sister, and friend. 

The Navy has moved us all over the country, and we are blessed to currently call Washington home.  I grew up in a small town in southern Idaho in a ranching family with my 4 siblings.  I now live in Poulsbo with my husband, our 4 teenage boys, 3 dogs, 4 cats, more than a few goats, and various other farm critters.  

Outside of my interest in birth and women's health, I can be found dabbling in creating herbal medicine, hiking in the Olympics, making soap, brewing beer with my husband, cooking what grows in our garden, homeschooling our kids, doting on my dahlias, and spending time with family and friends.... when I'm not at a lacrosse, football, or basketball game!

I love this life!
